REUNIONS

30 year reunion Class of 1979

Please join us for lunch on Saturday 6th June and to catch up on the last three decades. Please purchase your tickets from the Ticket Secretary and contact Oriel Sullivan  for further details.

 It’s 55 years  folks!

Those of us who started at the Senior School in 1947, and mostly left in 1954 - remember there was quite a crowd of us at the OC lunch in 2004, and we said we would do it again in 5 years time?   Well, it is time to put it into your diary and book your tickets - Saturday, 6th June 2009.    It would be good to see you all again, and perhaps some others, too.       Julia Clark (Boughton)

1953 Leavers

We are 4 'Old Girls' who left CHS in 1953, and we meet for lunch now and then as we all live in East Sussex. We hope to attend the Summer Lunch Party in June and are wondering if any of our former classmates will be there? Our names are Marianne Frith (Crawley), Janet Legget (Blunt), Jane King (Curtis) and Judith Rogers and we would be pleased to meet up with anybody who remembers being at Wellesley Road with us!   Marianne Frith 01323 423283

Proposed reunion in 2010

Last year’s Old Croydonian magazine carried a paragraph of news from Margaret Collins (Short), who referred to the annual CHS reunions and mentioned that she tries to attend every five years.  In fact, these 5-yearly get-togethers have been an opportunity for many of Margaret’s contemporaries to meet (I shall have to say ‘our year’, although we didn’t all leave school at the same time).  Thanks to Liz Foster (Kelly), who compiled an address list for members of our year, news reached me in Australia and I timed my visits to the UK to coincide with the 2000 and 2005 reunions.

I never thought I was a ‘reunion’ sort of person, having lost touch with nearly all of my CHS contemporaries, but I have much valued the renewed contacts I have made through my two visits.  Now that I am permanently back in the UK after 25 years overseas, I have enjoyed meeting these friends at other times of year, not just at the June reunion.  We are looking forward to the next 5-yearly reunion, in 2010.  Do try to come if you were in our year.  Also, please spread the word to anyone who may not receive a copy of The Old Croydonian;  there are a few people from our year whose contact details are not yet on Liz’s list.  We are hoping that this early notice will allow people to plan their activities well in advance, so that they can get to CHS next year, in June 2010.
