Old Croydonians Constitution

Having consulted with other GDST Old Girls Associations we realised that our ‘Rules’ needed updating. At the Annual General Meeting on June 14th  2008 at CHS we voted to accept the revised constitution, documented below.

Constitution

1.  The Association’s name is Old Croydonians and members of this association shall be known as Old Croydonians. 

2.  The Association’s objectives are

bullet

to maintain contact among former pupils

bullet

to encourage the cooperation and good relations between former and current pupils

bullet

to assist current pupils by providing knowledge and experience through voluntary help

bullet

to assist current pupils of the school by inviting and receiving contributions from any person/s by way of subscription, donations or otherwise.

 3.  The income of the Association shall be applied solely towards the promotion of the Objectives 

4.  If the members resolve to dissolve the Association, the Committee Members will remain in office as charity trustees and be responsible for winding up the affairs of the Association.  

5.  Membership is open to any former pupils, present and former staff. 

6. The Headmistress (ex officio) shall be President and ex Headmistress Vice President.  There shall be a Chairman, an Hon. Secretary and an Hon. Treasurer to be elected at the AGM and to hold office for three years, being eligible for re-election 

7.  There shall be a General Executive Committee consisting of not more than nine elected members, three of whom shall retire each year but be eligible for re-election, the officers of the association and one member of staff. 

8.  A life subscription of £25 shall be paid on joining the association. 

9.  There shall be an Annual General Meeting to which all members shall be invited. There may also be other social meetings. 

In accordance with the Data Protection Act, details provided to the Association will only be used for the purpose of communication within the Association and will not be passed to any third party without consent.
